Cake Decorator

Job Summary:

The Target Food & Beverage Cake Decorator is responsible for creating custom-decorated cakes and desserts, providing outstanding guest service, and ensuring product freshness and quality in alignment with Target's food and beverage standards. This position plays a key role in enhancing the guest experience through creativity, efficiency, and food safety.

Roles and Duties:

• Provide exceptional guest service by offering fresh and appealing cake and dessert options.
• Engage with guests to fulfill custom cake orders and offer product suggestions through sampling and upselling techniques.
• Prepare, ice, decorate, and package cakes and cupcakes per seasonal relevance and production card specifications.
• Execute all food and beverage processes including replenishment, inventory, rotation, cleaning, and signing.
• Ensure all food safety and temperature checks are completed as per company policies.
• Identify and process damaged, expired, or recalled items appropriately.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and use protective equipment as needed.
• Support other store services such as order pickup, Drive-Up, and cashier backup as necessary.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift or move merchandise up to 40 lbs. frequently.
• Work in environments with temperatures ranging from 34°F to -10°F as required.
• Remain mobile for the entirety of a shift and work in various conditions including humidity and allergens.
• Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, holidays, and peak shopping times.

Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Previous cake decorating experience is preferred but not required.
• Artistic ability to create custom, visually appealing cake designs.
• Strong communication and guest service skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable using scanners, handheld devices, and other technology tools.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
